Inform your financial institution that you will be travelling abroad. In order to protect your credit card from fraud, the card is blocked for payments in certain countries. Make sure your card can be used for payments in your holiday destination. Raise your credit limit if necessary. If you are travelling to a country that has another currency than the euro, make sure to check the exchange rates before departure.


Gather information about the precise weather conditions beforehand and make sure to pack adequate clothing. Especially in higher areas, weather conditions can quickly take a turn for the worse.
